Monday Morning Musings

Sophia now has 6 teeth. Two more popped through Saturday night--and there are still more on the way. Because of that fact, she is not sleeping very well. That means, her parents have not been sleeping very well--and, her Momma has been a trooper the last few nights in getting up with her.

Even with the sleepless nights and the discomfort of teething, she is still so sweet and loving when she wakes up in the morning. She has this thing of tucking her chin into her shoulder, cutting her eyes to me, and then springing the biggest and cutest smile--it just melts me.

Catching up..

We are still here, and we are all well. Sophia has four, pronounced teeth--the front four. Those came in with only a modicum of fussiness. Now, more have set in. Four on the top at least one molar. Wow, the crossness that we missed with the first four has laid in for these that just arrived. A little Baby Oragel and Baby Tylenol really helps.

Sophia was received the Sacrament of Baptism on Sunday, March 30. Father John List, our pastor, was the officiant. For a baby who doesn't like the bath, she hung with the Holy Water fairly well.

This is Sophia waving at the congregation. First time she had really waved purposely before, and she was really waving to beat the band. Her Godfather Jim is in the middle back, and her Godmother Emilyis on the left.

Sophia had her 9-month check-up last week. She is 16 lbs., 10.5 oz and 28 inches long. Meaning, she is in the 16th percentile for weight and the 75th for height.

We learned that her lead level was 9.8 in December, with a measure of 10 being the threshold for concern. Dr. Childers allayed our trepidation by saying that her exposure was environmental and the level with drop naturally. She will have another test in 3 months, and her level should be down considerably by then.

Other than that, we are all well. Little Miss gets up most mornings at 3:00 and is awake for 2 hours or so.

Talk to you all soon!
